The Europeans can boast some wonderfully stylish furniture, but it tends to be small in scale because it usually goes into apartments. American furniture, on the other hand, veers to the clunky.

The Kantha Empire armchairs and sofas feature Silver Anatole wooden frames and exquisite upholstery: vintage cotton saris that have been hand-stitched by Indian craftswomen to create larger pieces called “gudris” – each unique and much sought-after by connoisseurs of fine textiles.

Textiles and prints will form a focal point of the upcoming Decoration + Design, with the 2010 Materials Inspiration event, ‘Handsome Prints', seeing the unveiling of a one-off, custom designed floor measuring over 300 square metres.

Home décor specialist Adorabella is poised to release an array of new products at the upcoming edition of Decoration + Design. Adorabella co-director Ross Connors said the company's new ranges included wall hangings and cushions as well as exclusive framed prints and shadow boxes sourced from several new suppliers.
