Textiles and prints will form a focal point of the upcoming Decoration + Design, with the 2010 Materials Inspiration event, ‘Handsome Prints', seeing the unveiling of a one-off, custom designed floor measuring over 300 square metres.
Curator Barbara Marshall said the Handsome Prints feature would form an eye-catching display resulting from the collaboration of leading fabric houses with creative directors Marshall Design. Inspirational fabrics and wallpapers, spanning the spectrum from archival fabrics and hand-printed graphics to contemporary digital styles, would be on show.
"The Handsome Prints feature will comprise an array of stunning vignettes including a platform and wall display to showcase the brands involved," said Marshall, adding that a key part of the display and a highlight of the entire fair would be a floor component depicting a prince and princess on horseback, custom designed specifically for the fair.
To be unveiled at the show, the floor (pictured), which was manufactured and printed by Melded Products Group, would comprise a single illustration measuring around 315 square metres.
Handsome prints exhibitors include Boyac Decorative Furnishings, Boyd Blue, Brunschwig & Fils, Chee Soon & Fitzgerald, Cloth, Diane Bergeron Interiors, Inhabit Wallcoverings, Ink & Spindle, Mendip Silks, Mokum Textiles, Printink Studio, Publisher Textiles, Radford Furnishings, Riedel Imports, Safari Living, Seneca Textiles, Signature Prints, Silk Trader, South Pacific Fabrics, Spacecraft Australia, The Selvedge Group, Tigger Hall, Verve Fabrics and Zepel Fabrics.
The Handsome prints feature is just one part of a larger print and textile offer at the fair including key brands in the category such as Evyty, FBR, Olivades, Pasaya and Print Ink.
