Horgans: Family finesse

17 May 2010

"Creative living with style" may be Horgans' motto, but banish any thoughts of ultra-modern austerity. Instead, conjure a home that oozes charm and deftly blends the traditional and contemporary.

"We launched our French vintage collection last August and it's done so well, we'll be adding to it at Decoration + Design with new pieces such as secretaire desks, bookcases, bed heads and bedside tables," says Renee Horgan.

Along with brother Sam, she is the second generation to work for the Sydney-based upmarket homewares and interiors favourite established more than 30 years ago by parents Marion and Patrick Horgan.

Today, the family firm's European-inspired ranges are wholesaled to New Zealand, Singapore and Hong Kong, as well as across Australia and the fresh collections released each season are eagerly anticipated by Horgan devotees.

The blokes have not been forgotten. "Along with new lines such as cutlery, we'll be exhibiting men's gifts ranging from beautifully presented playing cards and dominoes to bookends," says Renee.
