Sasson Home: Clean, chic and versatile

12 July 2010

Sasson HomeThe Europeans can boast some wonderfully stylish furniture, but it tends to be small in scale because it usually goes into apartments. American furniture, on the other hand, veers to the clunky.

The observations come from Melbourne interior designer Sarah Kennish – Sass to friends – who with her photographer husband Michael, launched furniture and homewares company Sass Home in 2006 and now wholesales nationwide.

“Our furniture has a clean, rather Swedish look – we’re not into shabby-chic – and in size, reflects Australia’s bigger rooms and spaces,” she says. “We do complete ranges as well as mix-and-march pieces, and it all works well in either contemporary or older-style homes.” Sasson Home’s accessories include ceramics, mirrors and scatter cushions, though pride of place goes to lamps. “We’ll have a fabulous range of them at Decoration + Design,” promises Sarah. This year will also see the addition of a new contemporary timber furniture collection.
