LIGHTSOURCE also returns to light up Melbourne in 2012 offering the latest in lighting products, technologies and trends for commercial, retail, industrial and outdoor spaces.

Also, co-located for the first time in Melbourne is the FLOORING & FINISHES with ATFA Show. This newly co-located Show will offer the latest developments in design, texture, style, colour, safety, versatility & sustainability across all the flooring and surface finish disciplines.

AMBIENCE is a specially designed new feature area for luxurious fabric houses. It will be a major attraction at DECORATION + DESIGN Melbourne 2012.

Alone, Together was the second installation of Design Futures, the inspirational trend feature at the heart of Decoration + Design Melbourne. Embracing the idea of shared spaces in our homes, our workplaces, our social and our virtual lives. Community and collaboration are driving our decisions and designs. Technology has allowed us to be accessible at every moment.

Materials Inspiration - a little bit of sunshine

Inspired by the weather, which as of late seems to swing between too much or too little sunshine in our lives. Fabricated to lift our spirits and celebrate the nicer aspects of our climate we have put together a collection of stunning outdoor fabrics from Australia's leading fabric houses.

Lightsource

Lightsource showcases the latest lighting products and technologies for commercial, retail, industrial and outdoor space. Highlighting energy saving technology and environmentally sustainable lighting, Lightsource features leading Australian and international brands and lighting designers.

Vivid - Vibrant Visions In Design competition is a highlight of the Decoration + Design and Furnitex calendar.

Featuring talented designers who explore a diverse range products, design styles and manufacturing techniques, Vivid has become a hotbed of inspired design.

Hotel + Hospitality

As a spectacular new feature within Furnitex, Hotel + Hospitality Furnishings puts a highlight on products that are suitable for hotels, motels, clubs and resturants.

Design: Made: Trade

Design:Made:Trade is a diverse and inspiring trade exhibition space of over sixty 3x3 metre VISY cardboard booths, located in the beautiful Royal Exhibition Building, Carlton Gardens. Launching the State of Design Festival (20 - 31 July 2011), Design:Made:Trade features a program of workshops, talks, exhibitions and displays with a focus on driving strong industry attendance to foster business networks and sales opportunities.

State of Design

Under the 2011 theme of Design that Moves, the festival surveyed design in, on and around projects that are trans-formative, mobile and networked. Workshops and forums explored the nomadic, the cyclical and the role of design systems.
