Australia's next generation of ground-breaking designers was unveiled at The Edge Design and Innovation Showcase and Design Competition Awards Presentation. The Edge is an international platform for design talent, showcasing Australian designers with the rest of the world. Featuring 40 emerging designers competing in the categories Student, Commercial, Concept and Green, this year The Edge was an event not to be missed.

NECTAR Pendant Lamp Commercial

Designer maker Rebecca Asquith is based in Wellington, New Zealand where she produces contemporary design objects. Fundamental to her design ethos is the creation of high quality innovative products using eco-friendly materials and processes. The NECTAR lampshade comes as a flat-packed kitset. All offcuts from the production process are returned to the manufacturer to be recycled into new material. 100% Polyester (92% recycled content), steel.

ERNEST. Foldable Stool Concept

ernest.studio is a creative design consultancy which strives for ethical, envrionmental and ernest solutions, thinking of ways in which we can have less impact on our environment, solutions for community development, functionality of artifcts, honesty and still upholding timeless style. Foldable cafe stool for use in small cafes. Folds completely flat for storage and has many uses in the urban environment. Recycled soldid timber (Black Butt), mild steel.

Student Award - Best Student Product

Christopher Vincent is an aspiring designer who emphasises originality, form and personality in his work. LAMP 103 is a pleasing table / work lamp combining simple components for a simple assembly. Solid timber, steel, Polypropylene.
